Member Spotlight

Colleen Delaney

“Ever since my grandma was diagnosed with this terrible disease ten years ago, I have been looking for a way to give back since I can’t make it to the suburbs as often as I’d like to help my mom take care of this lovely lady. The Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter Junior Board was the perfect fit and I have been able to assist with our winter fundraiser, “Paint The Night Purple”, volunteer monthly at Sunrise Senior Living, and have made friends who care about ending Alzheimer’s just as much and I do!

My whole life my grandma would encourage me with every endeavor I pursued with the following statement, ‘Why sure you can, because you’re Colleen Delaney and you can do anything.’ While she may not know I’m Colleen Delaney anymore, I hope, through my work with the Junior Board and the Association, I can prove Gram right and help make an impact against this terrible disease.”
